Live - Love - Laugh
As a community of women
created in the image of God,
called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and
empowered by the Holy Spirit,
we commit ourselves to
grow in faith,
affirm our gifts,
support one another in our callings,
engage in ministry and action, and
promote healing and wholeness
in the church,
the society, and
the world.

To mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.

GROWTH

To provide a variety of learning experiences that strengthen each woman as a whole person, develop her potential, and equip her for ministry.

COMMUNITY

To enable each woman to value herself and others as created in God’s image and redeemed through Christ; and to build up and celebrate relationships which are global, diverse, and interdependent.

ACTION
To enable women to articulate and act upon their faith as Disciples of Christ in all areas of life.

 OUR SYMBOL
Our symbol with the cross, water, and a water lily - identifies the Women of the ELCA as children of God; baptized, forgiven, adopted into God’s family. It is a reminder of the growth, beauty, and vitality that rises out of that life-giving baptismal water. It is also a reminder to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)

Sunday – Monday, February 27-28, 2022  “Forgiveness”

Lord of Life women’s retreat at Spirit in the Desert ( https://spiritinthedesert.org/ ) begins Sunday with registration at 3 PM.  Pastor Kim will lead us through worship, messages, and communion.  The theme verse is 1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  (OR Luke 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.) We will leave in time to be home for dinner on Monday.

What is a Circle Meeting All About?

“Whenever two or three are GATHERED in my name, I am there among them.”      Matthew 18:20
Circle Meetings are each as unique, creative and different as the person planning and the women attending. They seek to experience the presence of God during their time together.
CORE elements of an effective Circle Meeting are:
JOY….…SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE…....COMMUNITY
BE JOYFUL
   BE CREATIVE
LET THE HOLY SPIRIT LEAD
SUGGESTIONS:
  • Welcome all who come to the meeting. Visitors, guests, occasional seekers.
  • Include everyone in discussions, prayer, planning, leading.
  • Use all types of prayer, music, art, movement, current events, books, DVDs
  • Create your own rituals, you are sacrament makers.
  • Create a prayerful environment, candles, flowers, prayer shawl…..
