About Us
Who We Are
Lord of Life Lutheran Church is a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The ELCA includes 5.3 million Lutherans in 11,000 congregations around the country. As part of the 70 million worldwide Lutheran family, we proudly proclaim the good news of God's saving love in Jesus Christ for all people. The Holy Scriptures are the source and norm of our faith and life. They announce God's gift of salvation to us through Jesus Christ. We are committed to serving in love all people in our community and beyond.
The ELCA is the most "mainline" of Lutheran churches. We have great diversity of opinion within the denomination on a variety of religious and social issues. The ELCA does not dictate what we are to believe on many issues. It encourages people to study the Bible and discuss issues with other Christians in order to form their own conclusions.
Lutherans Believe....
- That God has taken the initiative to restore our broken relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
- That we accept this gift through faith.
- That we respond to that Good News and gracious gift with a life dedicated to carrying out His will in the world.
- That as a Reformation church we have a special obligation to cooperate with other Christians to promote unity in the family of God.
